This may be a drama, but it sure has a lot of intensity. Directed by Sean Penn, the film stars Charlize Theron and Javier Bardem as relief aid director and doctor respectively in Africa attempting to make choices and save lives amid political unrest surrounding them. At the center of it lies the mission to save lives in a war torn area with many people in need, but there is also a love story that develops between Theron’s and Bardem’s characters that’s believable. On the outskirts is all the terror and fear that the unrest instills on these characters and the locals. There are quite a few things going on in this film and Penn does a very nice job putting it all together. There is no denying that the South African Theron is a great choice as one of the leads in the movie, her African accent works great with her character and lending it real legitimacy. Bardem is a good and interesting choice also. Their on-screen chemistry is good. This is a worthy movie to see. It’s eye opening and serves an informative purpose.
