GIFTED:
A fantastic film with fantastic performances by Chris Evans and young Mckenna Grace. It tells the story of a single dad raising his seven-year-old niece Mary (Grace) that is a child prodigy. Frank (Evans) raises the girl the normal way without singling her out as a genius, but that all changes when Frank’s mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) wants to put the girl’s gifts to be explored. This may be one of Evans’ best performances (along with my personal favorite in Before We Go). He is subtle, warm and heartfelt performance is one of the better ones of the year. Grace is equally impressive, sharp witted. This is a touching movie that is really well written, directed and acted. A definite must watch.
