If it’s Ridley Scott, you can bank on it being an epic blockbuster. For The Last Duel, Scott goes medieval. Based on true events, it depicts France’s last sanctioned duel. The cast is loaded with superstar names. Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Adam Driver star, but it’s Jodie Comer who is the main lead and scene-stealer.
This is an old-school brutal and violent historical epic. Very good performances and cinematography. Also, it was pretty cool to see Affleck and Damon share the screen again. This movie might not be for everyone due to it’s graphic nature, but I couldn’t stay away from a Ridley Scott film, with that cast. It was well worth seeing.
