SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS:

It’s about time we have Asian representation in a superhero franchise. Enter Shang-Chi into the Marvel Universe. This was a highly anticipated film and it’s a bonedife home run. The plot revolves around Shang-Chi who must confront and face his past, to make matters worse, he must overcome his father who is the one who stands in his way of doing that.

Newcomer Simi Liu stars as Shang-Chi and he’s a terrific talent. The character of Shang-Chi relatable and likeable, lots of that has to do with Liu’s charm and charisma. The film also stars Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy. Together they form a dynamic on-screen partnership.

This is a franchise with a ton of potential and it’s just getting started. I found the film to be highly entertaining and fun. Lots of timely humor and enjoyable performances from the actors. Getting back to what matters most, it’s great to see a primarily Asian cast, especially in a blockbuster superhero movie.
