CANDYMAN:
The Candyman is back. The sequel/prequel/reboot (it’s a little bit of everything) is modern and uniquely classic. It’s as good of a follow-up to the 1992 cult favorite, that starred Tony Todd.
Candyman continues the haunting legacy in the Cabrini Green projects of Chicago. I really liked how they continued with the origins of the original. New stars emerge in Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Teyonah Parris.
It’s no wonder why this film strikes all the right feels, with Jordan Peele and director Nia DaCosta serving as the creatives behind it. Candyman is intriguing, chilling and entertaining. I found it to be even better than the original, which is a testament to the filmmakers and cast.
A new era of Candyman is here, and it’s a must-see.
CANDYMAN is out now on 4K, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital
