President Gary Hart! What? Who? In an alternate universe, or if history went slightly the other way, Senator Gary Hart was on his way to becoming the President of the United States. So what happened and who was Gary Hart? Leave it up to Hugh Jackman to do a phenomenal portrayal of the infamous Presidential candidate.
The film is based on a true story of a man many wouldn’t consider a household name, unless you were paying attention to politics in 1988 (I was barely born, so I wasn’t). The extramarital scandal that derailed Harts campaign is chronicled in this suspenseful hard hitting drama. Joining Jackman is a terrific supporting cast that includes Vera Farmiga, J.K. Simmons and Alfred Molina.
Director Jason Reitman brings us a fascinating story that could have altered our present as we know it. If you’re into political films or movies based on true events, then you must pickup this film. Otherwise, everyone else feel free to join in and see it.
