CHILDREN OF THE CORN: RUNAWAY:

Children and corn fields are never a good combination. Just ask Stephen King. The tenth version of King’s “Children of the Corn” story is centered on a pregnant women who is on the run from the horrors of her childhood. She ends up all the way in rural Oklahoma (not the ideal spot if you’re running from corn fields) where she’s confronted with the evil she’s been running from.

Children of the Corn has always been one of the more underrated horror series. Runaway delivers on goosebump causing scares and good moments of horror. You get all the classic elements that you’d expect in this genre, the corn fields, scarecrow and creepy murderous children. There are some neat subtle moments that bring about chills, such as when a swarm of birds swipes unexpectedly across the screen. This is a fun horror movie that freshens up the franchise.
