FOREVER MY GIRL:

The pick for the early favorite romantic movie release of 2018 would be Forever My Girl. Alex Roe (Rings) and Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day) star in the film as a Southern couple drifted apart by fame and fortune. Roe plays a country music superstar named Liam Page (think Luke Bryant), who leaves his fiancee at the altar (literally) to rush off and pursue a d country music career. Years later he returns to town. You bet, she finds out about it. Old flames are lit, but the past must be confronted. Not to mention there is a a special person added to the equation that gives them a purpose to try to make things work.

Ok, so I gave away a long synopsis, but the set-up is important due to a twist that occurs before the mid point of the film. I enjoyed Rothe and Roe’s performances. They look like a believable couple and infuse some real Southern charm to their characters. If you love country and romance then this is the perfect movie for you.
