This movie has a very cool concept. A regular average Joe, in this case Jed (Nick Thune), is a 30-something that’s has an old-school approach which consists of avoiding social media. You know what’s going to happen, right? He’s going to get swept into the social media world with the help of a woman named Tasha (Halston Sage) who helps hime become an overnight social media sensation. The film depicts and interesting commentary on today’s society we live in and the worship of social media sites such as Instagram. The power of having followers, sharing content and going viral. It’s the kind of movie that makes you look and think deeper into who we are as a society and how we view each other. Jed lives two different lives, a real one where he’s often unnoticed, and a celebrity one where he’s the coolest guy that everyone wants to be around. The movie is relatable and fun, with some timely quirks. A cool vibrant cast. It’s definitely worth checking out and having a conversation about it when it’s over. As the title states, these are people you may know.

Once upon a time I watched Monday Night Raw on Monday nights. By coincidence I ended up hooked on The Bachelor/Bachelorette. That lead to a Blog at Chicago Now called Bachelor Universe and a podcast of the same name. Now, I've decided to spread my wings and create this site that can be your Bachelor/Bachelorette destination. Aside from The Bachelor, in my personal life I'm a bachelor myself. Looking for the love of my life (not handing out many roses). I'm an avid animal lover. Have a rabbit and two turtles. I'm a film critic and co-founder of the Chicago Independent Film Critics Circle (CIFCC). Lover of sports. Currently residing in the suburbs of Chicago (my hometown).
