Fall is here and so are many top movies. The fall season offers some really enticing home entertainment releases, many of them being the summer theatrical blockbusters. The following is a full list of new and upcoming releases.
The legendary superheroes Superman and Batman, take a seat, it’s time for your super pups to take over and solve some crimes. Krypto (Superman’s dog) and Ace (Batman’s dog) are buddies also. Their parent superheroes and the Justice League are kidnapped, so it’s up to Krypto, Ace and the crew to rescue them. I loved the super pets. The unsung heroes that constantly had their spotlight overshadowed by their famous counterparts. The dynamic duo of real-life friends Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart unite once again to lend the voices to Krypto and Ace. Seems like a natural fit. Enjoy several of the bonus features included, for an extra fun time. THE LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS is available on 4K, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 4
There is no other movie watching experience as tense and intense as Fall. It made my stomach turn. It’s nauseatingly spectacular to watch. It’s claustrophobic, yet you can’t get your eyes off it. I couldn’t have imagined to be jolted and rocked all while sitting on the couch as this movie made me feel. The two up-and-coming leads Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey were outstanding and conveyed the emotions of fear and anxiety as well as they possibly could. Watching Fall is an absolute roller coaster thrill ride. FALL is available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 18
Beast is a beast of a movie. Having Idris Elba in the lead sure adds to the sauce. Elba battles a ferocious killer lion in this pulse-pounding thriller. When a family trip to South Africa goes haywire, the thrills in the safari don’t stop coming at you. It’s a fight for survival and fight to save the family. Elba does action so well. He’s the man! This film doesn’t let you off the hook, it constantly comes at you, like a tenacious wild lion. I was on the edge of my seat, literally, this movie is constantly action-packed. Very entertaining action thriller. Great lead. What else can you ask for? The bonus features are filled with cool content, such as deleted scenes and a feature with the prosthetics supervisor. BEAST is available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 11

Can the underdog become a top dog (literally and figuratively)? In Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, Hank the dog is a hound dog with dreams of becoming a hero. When a friend comes to offer him help to achieve that dream, Hank makes a samurai turn to defend his turf against a villain. This was a fun watch. Good movie for kids and families. Colorful animated animal characters. If you’re a fan of the Kung-Fu Panda films, this one is right up your alley. Who doesn’t wanna root for a cool cute pup? I do. Expect plenty of humor and laughs along the way, with some karate action. The blu-ray and digital copies come with three bonus features. PAWS OF FURY: THE LEGEND OF HANK is available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 18
No movie has made me cry as Gigi and Nate. It’s a genuine tear-jerker. The story of a quadriplegic young man (Nate) that forms a special bond with a service animal (Gigi). It’s inspired on true events and it’s such a touching and uplifting film. Phenomenal work by Charlie Rowe in the lead role of Nate. I loved this movie and everything about it. Gave me a whole new perspective on service animals and the effect they have on people, especially people struggling mentally and physically. A must-see movie, can’t recommend it any more. GIGI & NATE is available on Blu-ray, Digital and DVD on November 15
A romantic coming-of-age comedy where age is truly just a number. Mack and Rita stars the great Diane Keaton and the talented Taylour Paige and Elizabeth Lail. What happens when a 30-something transforms into her much older self, played by Keaton. I liked the concept of this film. It’s sort of a freaky friday concept just with a age switch for one person. I thought it was a fun idea and it worked out nice as the film is funny and entertaining. The Blu-ray includes a couple features. Check out MACK & RITA on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 18
Bodies Bodies Bodies, that’s what you’re gonna get when you have a group of antsy cabin fever ridden Gen-Z’ers stuck in a mansion during a hurricane. It’s all fun and games till a dead body is found after a party game. Who did it?Who can be trusted? Whose an enemy? Who is a friend? I liked the story of this film and the mix of actors, which includes the much discussed Pete Davidson. This is one of those comedic thrillers that quickly turns into a murder mystery. BODIES BODIES BODIES is available on 4K, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital (bonus deleted scenes and making of features) on October 18
If you liked Ti West’s intriguing and acclaimed ‘X’, then you’ll love Pearl. The prequel to X, starring the returning Mia Goth. It’s really the origin story of X. Pearl is fantastic. It’s eerie, edgy, twisted and violent. This is a as good of a follow-up to a successful movie as you can get. I loved both films. If you saw X, this is a must-see. A new horror icon villain has arrived and her name is Pearl. The film comes with a few bonus features. PEARL is available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on November 15
A highly talked about movie that lived up to the hype. Don’t Worry Darling has all the elements you’d want in a premiere thriller. Suspenseful and engaging plot, great visuals, outstanding acting and a star-studded cast. Florence Pugh electrifies opposite Harry Styles. A performance from her that should get her name talked about during awards season. I was constantly in the dark as to where the story was heading, and that’s a good thing. Shocks and twists along the way that kept me locked in and engaged. The film contains a deleted scene and a making of featurette. DON’T WORRY DARLING is available on 4K, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on November 29
When we are talking about Christmas classics, you’ be hard pressed to find four more iconic Christmas movies than ‘Christmas Vacation’, ‘A Christmas Story’, ‘The Polar Express’ and ‘Elf’. Now in time for the Holiday’s Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will be releasing these classics in 4K, for the first time ever. Perfect stocking stuffer, or just get them and watch them during the holiday season. You’ll be able to see these four films when they release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and Digital on November 1st.
The movie of the year. When a blockbuster sequel turns into an unprecedented epic. That’s Top Gun: Maverick for you. Rarely does a sequel top the classic original film, but Maverick does. A record-breaking movie and all-around superb film. Maverick has it all, exciting action, a memorable story, a mega-star return of the lead in Tom Cruise, but most importantly it has unstoppable nostalgia. What a great movie watching experience this was. So satisfactory on all levels. This is a must-see movie of the year. Arguably the best sequel of all time. I can’t stop with my praise, just see it again and again. Enjoy all the packed bonus features included. TOP GUN: MAVERICK is available on on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on November 1st
Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline unite for a movie adaptation of a bestselling novel, The Good House. Weaver plays a woman that’s accomplished and self-sufficient, but is missing something in her life. She reconnects with a former high school flame (Kline) who makes her realize there is still more to life she hasn’t tapped into. I’m a big fan of romantic dramas. It’s cool to see an older couple at the center of a film like this that usually is reserved for the younger generation. Love in the later years in life is just as complicated and satisfactory and this movie underlines that. Great chemistry on-screen by Weaver and Kline. This was an enjoyable watch for me. Romance is back to being alive and well on-screen. THE GOOD HOUSE is available on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and VOD on November 22
Did you know that Gary Oldman once played Dracula? Did you know that Francis Ford Coppola directed a dracula film? That’s what you’ll get in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Oldman plays the Transylvania prince in this romantic horror alongside Winona Ryder. This is one of my favorite dracula themed films. Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release with the limited edition steelbook in 4K. Including nearly a dozen on bonus features, check out BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA available October 4
Three Thousand Years of Longing is unique. On the surface I couldn’t see Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba in these roles, especially Elba playing a genie. On the other hand these roles are perfect for them and they did a great job with them. Both are top-notch actors and they tell this oddly romantic and somewhat confounding story in an engaging way. It’s a slow burn, but very imaginative. I thought this film was different and unique in its own way. THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF LONGING is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on November 15
Bullet Train is wild. Everything about this film goes against movie tropes. Heck, even the actors in it you wouldn’t expect them to be in this film. This isn’t a Brad Pitt sort of film of recent memory, but it’s also something you can imagine him doing years ago. It’s action-packed, ridiculous and super witty and entertaining. I thought this was Pitt’s better and most interesting and fun character he’s played in a while. it’s filled with humor and sarcasm, but also gore and heavy on violence. Majority of it all takes place on..you got it…a bullet train. Fun stuff. Get the blu-ray and/or digital copy for over an hour of bonus content with bloopers and outtakes. BULLET TRAIN is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 18
E.T. will always be a cultural phenomenon. The movie that put Steven Spielberg on the map remains a classic today. E.T. will touch anyone’s heart, it’s a heartwarming story and it’s one of those movies that you don’t ever forget. For those that witnessed it originally when it releases, here is a bit of a reminder that the 40th anniversary of the release is here. Relive all the memories or make new ones when you see E.T. on 4K UHD with over 45 minutes of bonus footage and content. E.T. Extra-Terrestrial 40th Anniversary releases on October 18
The birth of the shock nighttime soap operas can be traced back to the 90’s and Aaron Spelling. Melrose Place was one of the original Spelling hits. No other small apartment complex in West Hollywood or anywhere will ever has as much crazy wild drama as Melrose Place. I grew up watching this show as a kid (probably shouldn’t have), thanks to my older sister. The drama and cliffhangers of this show were epic! Now you can relive all the drama or see it for the first time in this epic 226 episode, 54-disc collection of all seven seasons of the show. MELROSE PLACE: THE COMPLETE SERIES is available on DVD on October 4
When it comes to animated Christmas classics there are five main ones that come to mind. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, “Frosty the Snowman”, “Santa is Comin’ to Town”, “The Little Drummer Boy”, and “Cricket on the Hearth”. Now, you’ll be able to enjoy them on 4K UHD Blu-ray in a special limited edition steelbook. This makes a great holiday gift. We all remember our first experience reading “To Kill a Mockingbird” during our middle or high school years. The iconic book and story also had a movie version starring the great Gregory Peck. To mark the 60th anniversary of the release of the film, the film releases in 4K for the first time ever. See this classic in the best resolution and sound and enjoy one of the great and important all-time classics visually. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD 60th Anniversary edition releases on October 22
What’s an acting gig worth? Would you call out demons to help you get a gig? I wouldn’t, but that’s not what the main character in Devil’s Workshop does. Clayton (Timothy Granaderos) enlists the help of a demonologist played by Radha Mitchell. Dark and dangerous rituals are performed as Clayton must face his past. Will there be more harm done in the process? What do you think? This film is a good under-the-radar horror thriller. Interesting concept. Committed work from the actors, plus one of my favorites Emile Hirsch is also in the film. Fun watch. DEVIL’S WORKSHOP is available on Blu-ray and DVD on November 8
A murder mystery fit for a top detective. Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan team-up as an unlikely duo to some a murder. I thought this film was very fun and entertaining. Lots of good comedic moments and the acting was just as good. Strong cast with big names. It was really a cool throwback to the old murder mysteries. The murder mystery itself was well plotted and executed (no pun intended), and kept me guessing till the end. SEE HOW THEY RUN is out on Digital on November 1
Lead by an all-star cast of Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington (among many other stars). It’s a David O’Russell flick so you kinda have an idea that you’re getting some quirky, heartfelt, suspenseful and dramatic. I enjoyed the film. It was entertaining and well acted and directed, as you’d expect with the people attached to it. This is a witty and original film and if you’re a fan of the people involved, definitely see it. AMSTERDAM is available on Digital on November 11, on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on December 6
Certainly in the running for one of the best horror thrillers of 2022, Barbarian shocks in several ways. The plot is very clever and mysterious. Terrific lead performances by Georgina Campbell (a star in the making), Bill Skarsgard and Justin Long. I was on the edge watching this film. You have no idea what’s gonna happen scene-to-scene much less how it will end. The ending might be the only question I have abou this movie, otherwise it’s a very impressive film. If you’re looking for a chilling movie, look no further. BARBARIAN is available on Digital on October 25
If you haven’t gotten enough of Picard, good news is that season two of Star Trek: Picard is making its way to DVD. In season two Picard takes a trip to the past to reacquaint with old friends and even new ones to help save modern day Earth. Time is not on their good side. The show is continuing a great run with season two. See all 10 episodes of the season with over an hour of never-before-seen footage. STAR TREK: PICARD-SEASON TWO is available on Blu-ray, DVD and limited-edition steelbook Blu-ray on October 4
It was born as an XBox game and became an all-time classic. Now, it’s also a TV series. The first season of Halo focuses on humanity’s struggle with the Covenant. Pablo Schreiber stars as the infamous Master Chief. I thought the show was cool and had a great look, as a fan of the game the show did honor it nicely. The limited-edition steelbook collection comes in a five-disc collection and including all 9 episodes of season one. Plus, over 5 hours of behind-the-scenes bonus content. This is a must-have for any Halo fan. HALO: SEASON ONE available in 4K UHD steelbook, Blu-ray and DVD on November 15
A 90’s classic has been reborn for a new generation. Walker, stars Jared Padalecki, as the Texas Ranger. Season 2 will have Walker confronting family and past troubles and traumas arise. Now, Walker must balance the relationship between both families. I enjoyed season one and liked season two. It’s a solid show with a good cast, with a strong family feel. All 20 episodes of season two come in a five-disc set that includes deleted scenes, features and a gag reel. WALKER: SEASON TWO available on DVD on October 4
Leave it up to modern day horror icon Jordan Peele to revive a classic series. The Twilight Zone is back, so expand your imagination and travel to various dimensions. I really enjoyed this reboot from Peele. It’s a modern take which makes it relatable for today’s audience. It features so many big names including Kumail Nanjiani, Greg Kinnear, Joel McHale, John Cho, Adam Scott, Jillian Jacobs and Tracy Morgan among many others. Check out this seven-disc collection set, especially if you’re a fan of the original show. THE TWILIGHT ZONE: THE COMPLETE SERIES is available on DVD on October 4
A cult classic is reborn. Jeepers Creepers. The lead characters Chase and Laine head to the Horror Hound fest. Well the fest gets bloody quickly and since the annual 23 years is up, The Creeper is born again. I found the film to be fun, entertaining, nostalgic and yes, creepy. The Creeper is just as menacing as ever. JEEPERS CREEPERS REBORN is out on Blu-ray and DVD on November 15
Honk for Jesus, or just honk for Sterling K. Brown and Regina Hall. The dynamic twosome play husband and wife, and pastor and first lady of a Southern Baptist megachurch. The film is hilarious and superbly acted by Brown and Hall. I enjoyed the third wall being broken apart as these two delivered hit monologue after hit monologue. Some real committed character acting in this full-out satire. So does their congregation last? Watch and you’ll find out and enjoy the journey. The Blu-ray comes with come deleted scenes and a gag reel. HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. is available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on November 1st
Six skydivers try to pull off the impossible, but they end up facing an even bigger challenge when one of them mysteriously disappears mid-air. Hex has a fresh take and movie concept. It’s an adrenaline action horror fick, which is a unique genre blend. There is definite sense and familiarity of some horror favorites. Paranormal vibes for sure. Check it out and enjoy this arial thrill ride. HEX is available on DVD, Digital and on Demand from Lionsgate on November 1st.
With seven seasons and a film, little can be argued that “Ray Donovan” isn’t one of the best and most successful shows of recent times. The Hollywood cleaner aka Ray Donovan was played flawlessly by Liev Schreiber. Strong supporting cast with all-time greats such as Alan Alda and Jon Voight. Now you’ll be able to own every single episode of this fantastic series in a 29-disc collectors set that includes over 2 hours of bonus content and the Ray Donovan movie. RAY DONOVAN: THE COMPLETE SERIES is available on DVD on October 25
There would be no horror without the classic monsters. Universal Classic Monsters is releasing the second volume of their classic monster stories. Volume two will contain icons such as “The Mummy”, “Bride of Frankenstein”, “The Creature from the Black Lagoon” and “Phantom of the Opera”. These are the original monsters and it’s cool to witness these films in 4K UHD in their natural black and white format. UNIVERSAL CLASSIC MONSTERS: ICONS OF HORROR VOL. 2 is available on October 11
Handsome, smart and funny, sounds like a catch, right? Well not quite. Michael C. Hall is your charismatic serial killer Dexter Morgan. After 10 years Dex is back. Fans of the series, this is a satisfactory comeback. Plenty of familiar faces from the original series and the main actors are back. New Blood does feature a Dexter in more current times, but it’s still the same old Dexter. A lot of the show’s focus is Dexter’s relationship with his 10-year-old son. DEXTER:THE COMPLETE SERIES AND DEXTER: NEW BLOOD is available in a awesome two-pack boxed set and is available on Blu-ray and DVD on October 4
