WOMAN WALKS AHEAD:

When you get two Oscar winners together, expect for good things to happen on-screen. Jessica Chastain plays a widowed New York artist who travels to North Dakota to paint a portrait of Chief Sitting Bull. Sam Rockwell plays a US Army officer attempting to threaten the Native Americans and claim their land. The story takes place in the 1880’s, a time that saw hostility between the Native Americans and the US Army. This is very much a period piece movie.

This is a well put together film with some fine cinematography work. At times it can be slow, but you’d expect that from a movie of this genre and type. The acting is fantastic, but the story is pretty interesting and has some real historical elements to it. It might not be the most exciting or entertaining film, but the overall package that it presents is worth the look.
