MOTHER!

In what is probably the most mind twisting, confusing and fascinating movie of the year, mother is sure to spur lots of conversation and controversy. Jennifer Lawrence stars and plays a seemingly normal woman devoted to her relationship, living in the outskirts of society with her significant other (played by Javier Bardem). What appears normal on the surface quickly turns into a full-blown chaos. Director Darren Aronofsky really provides quite the mind-fuck here. There are so many layers of deception that it might be easier to figure out a rubiks cube, than unlocking the realities in this plot. I say all this with the outermost admiration for the complexities that Aronofsky dug into. Mother! touches on a variety of topics ranging from religion to the media’s obsession with celebrity. This is a movie certain to instill a passionate reaction in everyone who watches, therefore it’s most definitely a must-see movie.
