Halle Berry’s character in Kidnap is on a mission, and by mission I mean all-out pursuit in search of her missing child. This is as intense as Berry has been in a movie for quite a while. Kidnap is an action thriller that is up there with some of the better abduction themed movies. It almost teeters the line of being over-the-top with the stakes being elevated at all times. Berry’s mom character is so extreme racing a minivan in pursuit of the kidnappers to the point that it makes Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto look like an amateur driver. You won’t find yourself bored, that’s one thing I can assure you about this film. Don’t be swayed by the trailers, this film is a lot more entertaining than that.

  • A Look Inside Kidnap – Star Halle Berry, Director Luis Prieto, and 2nd Unit Director/Stunt Coordinator Steven Ritzi discuss how Karla Dyson’s desperation to rescue her son made her capable of the extraordinary.

Kidnap is out now on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and On Demand

Once upon a time I watched Monday Night Raw on Monday nights. By coincidence I ended up hooked on The Bachelor/Bachelorette. That lead to a Blog at Chicago Now called Bachelor Universe and a podcast of the same name. Now, I've decided to spread my wings and create this site that can be your Bachelor/Bachelorette destination. Aside from The Bachelor, in my personal life I'm a bachelor myself. Looking for the love of my life (not handing out many roses). I'm an avid animal lover. Have a rabbit and two turtles. I'm a film critic and co-founder of the Chicago Independent Film Critics Circle (CIFCC). Lover of sports. Currently residing in the suburbs of Chicago (my hometown).
