You’ll most definitely think twice about ever planning a trip to the jungle after this film. Director Greg McLean delivers this real-life story of a man on the brink of insanity that must overcome hell on earth. Daniel Radcliffe plays Yossi Ghinsberg, an adventure seeker who embarks on a journey through the Peruvian jungle with a group of friends. Sounds fun in theory, but the horrors they encounter through the jungle trek tests their limits and and challenges their will to survive. This could be Radcliffe’s best role yet. He exudes an extreme amount of physicality in this role. Everything you can imagine that could go wrong, pretty much does. Radcliffe is stripped both physically and mentally and you can only appreciate the commitment he had to this role. This is the kind of movie that will make you cringe frequently and the sights of struggle the characters endure, but yet it’s impossible to take your eyes off it.
