Ladies and gentlemen, Florence Pugh has arrived. In a tantalizing role, Pugh plays a mid-1800’s English woman who develops an affair with a worker from her husband’s estate. Lady Macbeth depicts an interracial relationship in 19th-century England and the authoritarian behavior that men had over women. The film has a strong female character that defies conventional wisdom and appears to be light years ahead of her time in her approach and attitude. It’s hard not to be compelled by the story and follow the events as the unfold. Sexy and mysterious would be a fitting description of what you can expect when you check this movie out. Ironically it’s a period piece that feels very modern.
