We rely so much on our phones and apps as a means of everyday living, so imagine a phone with a rogue app that provides a life expiration. That’s what the characters in Countdown have to deal with. Elizabeth Lail plays nurse Quinn Harris, who downloads a mysterious app that predicts when someone will die. Poor Quinn has three days.
This is a really fun thriller with an entertaining concept. Will the Quinn beat the clock and save her life? That’s what keeps you intrigued. There are a few twist and turns along the way also. The plot is solid without any noticeable blunders.
Lail is a likeable lead and fitting for this genre. Makes you wonder if this app was real (luckily it’s not) would we be tempted to download it? That’s why it’s better off to let it stay in the movie and ponder the possibilities.
