Must-See Home Entertainment Releases of the Week

November may be winding down and the holiday season is upon us, but the month is coming to an end with some really compelling movie releases for your home entertainment viewing. This week I’ll take a look at The New Mutants, Mulan and The Personal History of David Copperfield.

THE NEW MUTANTS:

These new mutants aren’t the X-Men ones you are accustomed to seeing. They are a whole new breed. What I really liked about this film was that it had a horror thriller vibe to it. It was darker than any of the X-Men movies. These young teenage mutants have dangerous powers.

The cast consists of some really talented young actors such as Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy and Charlie Heaton among them. I liked how the story takes place at an eerie isolated hospital where they are undergoing psychiatric evaluations. That’s where all the chaos begins to ensue.

The New Mutants offers a new look and angle to a genre we have grown used to, but also one that began to fall flat. This is a new fresh generation of mutants with an edgier concept. Welcome to a compelling new era of mutant superheroes.

‘THE NEW MUTANTS’ is out now on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital
