The week of May 22 offers a nice mix of must-see movies. Jennifer Lawrence and Jason Bateman head these movie selections. Choices of a thriller, comedy and true-life drama. These following three movies are your best bet choices for the week:
GAME NIGHT:
Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams team-up in this hilariously wacky comedy. Bateman and McAdams play a married couple that has a thing for game night, as in board games and such. One wild night leads them on a mysterious trail that leads to all sort of craziness. The Bateman and McAdams pairing is quite fun. They have great chemistry and timing together.
Game Night appears to be one of these films that the premise sounds so goofy you don’t want to take it very seriously, but that’s not the case. This is a clever film with a lot of intriguing suspenseful plot twists and surprises. You actually need to follow the story and the details to get the full grasp and experience. There is a lot of physical slapstick comedy that’s really funny. You can never go wrong with Bateman as a comedic lead.
I found Game Night to be very engaging and creative. The comedy is timely. There is little not to like about this film. Solid performances and a unique plotline makes Game Night a definite must-see movie.
