The transfer market for the MLS is over, but free agents are still able to sign with teams. Former Celta Vigo player Jailson is leaving La Liga for the MLS. LAFC signed the free agent midfielder through the remainder of the 2025 season with club options for 2026 and 2027. He will be added to the roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.

Jailson, 29, joins the Black & Gold from Celta Vigo of Spain’s La Liga, where he made 27 appearances (15 starts) from 2024-2025. Prior to joining Celta Vigo, the defensive midfielder spent two years with Brazilian Série A club Palmeiras, where he made 46 appearances across all competitions from 2022-2023, registering one goal and two assists.

With the recent injury of Igor Jesus, LAFC needed a replacement in the midfield. Enter Jailson, the Brazilian brings experience in European competitions, as well as playing for Brazilian Série A club Palmeiras, where he made 46 appearances across all competitions from 2022-2023.
This is a really solid signing for LAFC, especially at this point of the season. He should slot into the starting lineup quickly. His experience will be a big boost to the club. LAFC has been prioritizing adding experience with their recent signings, which included Alexandru BǍLUȚǍ.
