Fall is here, leaves are falling and weather is getting chilly in many parts. Halloween season is in full swing, so no better time to grab some hot cider and watch some of summer favorites arrive to your home screens. Here are the best of the bunch, including some Halloween spookies!

The most buzzed about movie of 2023, Barbie, arrives. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling tantalize in this visually vibrant spectacle. The visuals are as imaginative as it gets. It truly looks like a Barbie world. The story carries a unique social message. It’s carefully crafted, visually inspiring, entertaining and memorable. There is a reason why this is one of the highest grossing films ever, simply it’s an imaginative joy ride. It’s a lot of fun for Barbie lovers and new fans of the iconic brand. The film includes six must-see Barbie-tastic bonus features. BARBIE arrives on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 17
MEG 2: THE TRENCH really takes you deep inside the trenches. Jason Statham returns for the sequel of the box-office smash hit The Meg. If you liked the first Meg, expect the same type of energy in this one, just add more action, death-defying stunts, bigger and badder sea monsters. This film is bonkers and it’s fun. The action never lets up. You won’t think of the depths of the ocean floor ever the same again. The film comes with two bonus features. MEG 2: THE TRENCH is out now on Digital, and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on October 24
Warning! This is NOT a cutesy doggie movie for kids! Strays is hilarious and super raunchy. Think Cocaine Bear (same creators). Voiced by Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx. Fuzzy pup Reggie (Ferrell) discoveres the meaning of life and realities of his human owner by bonding with fellow strays. I thought the concept was interesting and the comedy is dark and outlandish, yet very fitting once you get used to the cute dogs throwing f-bombs. It’s adult fun and humor that I was able to embrace. Strays boasts over a half dozen bonus features. STRAYS is available now on Digital and streaming on Peacock, and Blu-ray and DVD on October 10
One of the more underrated and awesome animated films of 2023, Ruby Gilman, Teenage Kraken. You don’t see many kraken stories out there, so Ruby Gillman is introducing us to these colorful creatures in this coming-of-age story. It’s a great family film with fun characters and good humor. Don’t sleep on the action in this one, the visuals are outstanding also. The film is packed with special bonus features. RUBY GILLMAN, TEENAGE KRAKEN Collector’s Edition is out now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital
A bitter-sweet end to the Indiana Jones saga. Dial of Destiny is a fitting send-off for Harrison Ford’s Indy. Nonetheless the film is action-packed with memorable scenes. Nostalgic, with all the familiar Indy adventure feels. It’s an end of an era but Dial of Destiny doesn’t leave much more to be desired. It might be the end for Indy, but Harrison Ford still gets it done. The film comes with over 2 hours of additional bonus content. INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY is out now on Digital, with the physical copy arriving on December 5th
Spooky season keeper is The Boogeyman. Might find yourself looking under the bed or in the closet before you go to sleep due to this, but you’ve been forewarned. Starring Chris Messina, whose been everywhere these days, the film offers some legit chills and jump-scares. I found it entertaining and interesting. Good performances from the young Sophie Thatcher and Vivien Lyra Blair. Can’t go wrong with a Stephen King film during Halloween season! The film comes with two bonus features, one of them being “outtakes”. THE BOOGEYMAN is out now on Digital, it arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on October 10
Halloween and Disney’s a Haunted Mansion is a great combination. This is not a remake of the Eddie Murphy Haunted Mansion film, it’s a standalone. Fantastic cast lead by Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito and Owen Wilson. Everyone if very fitting in their roles, especially Owen Wilson playing an entertaining preacher. Th film has some moments that will make you flinch, but it’s a lot more funny than it is scary. It’s fun and entertaining with a solid plot. There are two bonus features. Disney’s HAUNTED MANSION is out now on Digital, and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on October 17
Looking for a good laugh? Good, THEATER CAMP is what you should see! Molly Gordon and Ben Platt are awesome playing eccentric staff members of a theater camp, who are tasked with keeping the camp from folding. The camp kids featured in the film do a great job and match the quirky outlandish nature of their camp counselors. I found the premise of the film to be simple and effective. Offbeat, humorous and entertaining is what you can expect from this film. THEATER CAMP is out now on Digital and Hulu
Arguably the most praised and talked about film of 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally here for your home viewing. The incredible follow-up sequel is actually even better than the very successful and critically praised original. Now that’s a hard feat to accomplish. Everything about Across the Spider-Verse hits! Phenomenal storyline. Tons of fun easter eggs. All the Spider-Men and cameos you could dream of. The visuals are world-class. There are just no blemishes about this film Super fun and entertaining. Genuinely one of the best superhero movies ever made! Includes over a dozen must-see special bonus features. SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE is available now on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital
A true horror classic. Today’s slew of exorcist themed films have one to thank for starting the trend, that being William Friedkin’s original The Exorcist. Linda Blair is phenomenally terrifying in the lead role. Everything about this film is iconic. The directing, visuals, mood, acting and scares. It’s genuinely one of the scariest films ever. If you never seen it, treat yourself to it, especially during Halloween season. Make sure to grab a copy that features an extended directors cut and is available in 4K for the first time ever, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1973 release. Additionally, including over an hour of bonus features. THE EXORCIST is available now on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Digital
One of the best films of the year is Celine Song’s Past Lives. A love story that transcends time and continents. It’s beautifully written and acted. Memorable performances by Greta Lee and Teo Yoo. This film is encapsulates the charm of New York City. It’s a film I fell in-love with while watching. Past Lives will make you feel and had me reminisce about past connections, romantic and platonic. It’s really wonderfully done in every aspect and it left me gasping in the final moments of the film. It’s an absolute must-see! Get the film for the eight special features it includes. PAST LIVES is out now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital
