September’s Must See Home Entertainment Releases

BOOKSMART:

It’s been a while since a movie reinvented and rejuvenated a genre (think: Superbad). Booksmart is that movie. Some will compare it to a female version of Superbad, but it’s different and fitting for the current generation. The concept is simple, two teenage girls celebrate the last week of their high school lives, after having their high school experience pass them by.

It’s a modern coming-of-age story, with two hilarious and likable female leads. The characters are endearing and are relatable. Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein are sensational, immediate stars.

This movie is non-stop hilarious fun. You really don’t get many laugh breaks from start to finish. Olivia Wilde does an amazing job directing the film. Simple and effective with genuine laugh out loud humor. It was arguably the most fun and funny movie I’ve seen this year. A real gem.
