Matt Walsh is synonymous with comedy. Just look no further than his run as Mike McLintock on Veep. His latest comedy adventure is Unplugging, in which he stars alongside Eva Longoria.

Matt spoke to Reel Talker about Unplugging and we talked about the Chicago Bears, a team he’s a huge fan of. Check out the entire interview below and his thoughts on all the changes with the Bears.

REAL TALK:

Matt Walsh knew he was embarking on a convo with a fellow Chicagoan from the get-go. He heard my voice and Chicago accent was a dead giveaway. We started with Unplugging, I asked him for his take on the concept. He seemed to be a fan of it in moderation, which makes complete sense in many ways.

We didn’t have much time to chat (press junkets run fast) so I had to bring up some Chicago Bears talk. Matt is a huge Chicago sports fan so it was just a natural subject matter to get into with another passionate Chicago sports nut.

Pretty clear that Matt has been following the team closely and all the major offseason moves. He seems to be on board with Justin Fields. Made a good point about the Khalil Mack trade. And seems to be somewhat concerned about the talent added to the team, which I completely agree with. The difference between Matt and I when it comes to the Bears is that he’s still remaining optimistic and hopeful about the team’s outlook, which is a lot more than I can say for that.

Super chill and cool guy. Chicago’s own. Been a fan of Matt’s work and great to see him succeeding and carving out a really nice career for himself in Hollywood. Chicago pride!
