Clifton Collins Jr. and Molly Parker Discuss ‘JOCKEY’ and Their Careers Finally Crossing Paths
It’s fitting that we finally see Clifton Collins Jr. and Molly Parker star in the same film together. In Jockey, Collins Jr. gives one of the best performances of his career. I spoke to Clifton and Molly about their work in Jockey and getting to finally work together.
REAL TALK:
I’ve seen Clifton in many roles, sometimes playing an imposing and intimidating character, so I wasn’t sure what he’d be like in person? He was very nice. Molly was equally polite. It’s really interesting how both of them started in the industry around the same time. Both Molly and Clif have had tremendous careers. Very talented actors who haven’t gotten the notoriety that they deserve.
Clifton is garnering a lot of buzz about his role in Jockey. Keep an eye out for him come awards season. It’s a tantalizing performance playing a jockey at the end of his career. Molly plays his longtime trainer. They seemed to have a lot of respect for each other, judging by the interview. Clifton was very gracious and humble in regards to the potential acclaim that’s coming his way.
Both seem like great individuals that deserve the praise for their work and I’m happy to see Clifton in a lead role.
JOCKEY is out now in select Theaters
