If you haven’t been paying attention, actress Asjha Cooper is making a mark on Hollywood. She’s appeared in Snowfall, All American, Chicago Med and now you can see her in the Welcome to the Blumhouse film Black as Night.
The Texas native gets to go head-to-head with some vicious vampires, and I spoke to her all about it. Asjha discussed her experience on the film. How the cast bonded together on and off set. Plus, her impressions of Chicago.
REAL TALK:
Asjha was very good and personable. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to attend the Chicago premiere of Black AsNight, which I attended. Apparently she also had a premiere of Chicago Med on back-to-back nights and couldn’t attend either. You know you’re career is in a good place when you have these sort of events.
It didn’t cross my mind that they filmed Black as Night during the pandemic, until Asjha spoke about how deserted New Orleans was. That’s hard to imagine, since it’s such a tourist city to visit.
Naturally I was going to ask her about her Chicago experience, considering she’s been filming Med in town. I’m a big surprised Asjha hasn’t been properly introduced to all the Chicago food spots and those famous pizza joints. We need to get her that pizza at least. Come on Chi Med, get it done crew. Get that proper catering! Now, I do wonder what they are eating on set? Hmm.
