Conversation with ‘The Estate’ Chris Baker & James Kapner Talk LA’s Movie Mansion, Eliza Coupe and NSFW Film Dialogue

A lavish LA mansion with a plotting son and his stepmother, a hired hitman, what else could happen? I went to ask the director and writer/star of The Estate, James Kapner and Chris Baker.

I spoke to the guys about their experience making the film. Shooting in the fancy LA mansion. Working with the likes of Eliza Coupe and Eric Roberts. Writing raunchy dialogue. All that and more. These guys are a blast. Check out the full interview below.

REAL TALK:

Chris and James were a ton of fun to chat with. They both had great personalities. Chris had a lot of great energy. James was a little more laid back. I can see how they complemented each other in making this film.

The film has some clever dialogue. It’s NSFW kind, but I enjoyed it. The actors go for it. Eliza and Chris have awesome on-screen chemistry. They work off each other seamlessly.

Apparently that mansion they filmed in has been used in several productions and commercials, it’s a house that isn’t occupied. I was surprised to learn that.

It’s really cool that James was able to write and play a character that fit him well and that he knew how to portray. His character George is plenty entertaining.

The film is fun. It’s a campy horror comedy that is unique in its way and I found it to be entertaining.
