Movie Pick of the Day: Dora and the Lost City of Gold

Dora the Explorer gets her first live action movie. It’s just the kind of adventure the kids and parents to watch together. Rising star Isabela Moner plays Dora, and she’s perfect in the role.

The movie has a lot of silly humor that kids will enjoy. It’s adventure packed and visually appealing landscapes. The supporting cast is strong with the likes of Eva Longoria along with funnymen Michael Pena and Eugenio Derbez.

What you see is what you get with this film. It’s not more than it should be, it fits into the mold of the Dora animated franchise and it’s fun for the family. As you’d hope to see in any jungle adventure, there will be some animal characters appearing (CGI versions). Dora is just a high school girl trying to fit in as everyone else, while also challenging herself with grand adventures to feed her never ending curiosity.

DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLDis available on Blu-ray, DVD, On Demand and Digital
