Dark River opens today, the British drama tells the story of two siblings vying for control of their recently deceased father’s farm. The movie stars Ruth Wilson, Mark Stanley and Sean Bean. I spoke to the director of the film Clio Bernard. We discussed what made her want to direct the movie, talk about the actor performances and much more.

For those of you not present, Clio and I had some phone connection issues that we had to manage to overcome. Clio had some interesting points to make about the making of the movie. Clio was engaging to speak to and I could sense a good upbeat energy from her speaking about the movie. It’s always fun to hear someone be passionate about their project.

The fun fact I learned about Clio is that she likes to read when she’s not working on films.

DARK RIVER is out now in theaters

Once upon a time I watched Monday Night Raw on Monday nights. By coincidence I ended up hooked on The Bachelor/Bachelorette. That lead to a Blog at Chicago Now called Bachelor Universe and a podcast of the same name. Now, I've decided to spread my wings and create this site that can be your Bachelor/Bachelorette destination. Aside from The Bachelor, in my personal life I'm a bachelor myself. Looking for the love of my life (not handing out many roses). I'm an avid animal lover. Have a rabbit and two turtles. I'm a film critic and co-founder of the Chicago Independent Film Critics Circle (CIFCC). Lover of sports. Currently residing in the suburbs of Chicago (my hometown).
