Windy City Sends Go-Go Packing Back to Capital City

Rematch, less than 24 hours after a convincing Capital City win. The Sunday afternoon matinee starts out the opposite of the previous game.

Not sure, if the Go-Go team didn’t get any sleep, because they came out flat in the first and the Bulls bulldozed (no pun intended) them from the opening tip.

Javon Freeman-Liberty quietly made his return after missing a few months due to injury, last night. Impressed with his conditioning and immediate contribution, as if he hasn’t missed a beat. He will be a key player for the team moving forward.

The Go-Go worked their way back into the game after being down in double digits, they start the second quarter down seven. The Bulls have a tendency to blow leads and let teams back in the game.

Last game I mentioned AJ Johnson, but Kiara Lewis Jr. is a former lottery pick, that’s currently on the Go-Go squad, trying to make it back to the league. They have some NBA talent on the team, which explains why they are leading the East.

The Capital City run didn’t deter the Bulls. They make a run of their own. and take back the double digit lead. At halftime the Bulls holding an impressive 67-47 lead. Lead by E.J. Liddell’s 17 points, on an otherwise balanced scoring half.

Second half was no different, Windy City kept coming at the Go-Go. This is something this Bulls team has lacked this season, a killer instinct to put teams away early. Today they were focused from the start and didn’t allow Go-Go to get into the game.

You know Liddell was feeling it after knocking down a 4th quarter three, he just stared down at his palm while jogging back on defense.

A complete team effort from the Bulls, who pick up a 121-104 win over the conference leading Capital City.

UP NEXT:

The Bulls go on a short trip to Wisconsin to face the Herd on Tuesday night.

PLAYER OF THE GAME:

E.J. Liddell was the leading scorer, but you could pick any one of few players. It was a complete team effort with multiple contributors. Liddell did lead the team in scoring on the night with 25 points on 82% shooting from the field.
