The Seeding is here and it will leave you freaked out for a long time. One of the freakiest films in recent memory comes to life thanks to visionary filmmaker Barnaby Clay and the stars of the film Scott Haze and Kate Sheil.

I had a chance to speak with Barnaby, Scott and Kate about the film. They shared insight on working on the The Seeding and their personal experiences on set. Find out what made this film a unique experience for them and a memorable watch for you.

BARNABY CLAY:

Barnaby seems like a fun guy. I enjoyed speaking with him and listening to him discuss the film and his process with it. He certainly had some inspirations for it from other films. I haven’t seen the films he listed, but now I want to check them out. This film reminded me of Ari Aster’s Midsommar, which is one of my favorite horror films ever.

Barnaby was innovative with his script and really did well with the characters. I appreciated him discussing the alternate endings he had in mind and the process behind-the-scenes about it. That was pretty cool, even though I’m glad he went with the ending he did. A filmmaker to keep an eye on.

SCOTT HAZE & KATE SHEIL:

It was great to catch up with Scott again. Previously spoke with him a few years back. As always it was a pleasure to speak with him, gracious guy and always thoughtful with his answers. This was my first time talking with Kate. She seemed to be on the quieter side. Kate gave thoughtful answers also. I asked her and Barnaby about the alluring scenes with her bathing with a washcloth. It was a scene shot very skillfully and a unique scene I can’t remember seeing before in any other film.

I had to ask Scott about the Sherry Theater, which is a theater near and dear to Scott and his family. Glad to hear it’s still running and giving opportunities to creatives. Scott and Kate did an excellent job in their roles in the film. The Seeding is a creepy film that stays with you after you watch it. One of the better horrors I’ve seen in a while.

THE SEEDING releases in Theaters and on VOD on January 26, 2024
