Interview: Gia Crovatin on her Maggie Q Crush & actors strike

Gia Crovatin is quickly becoming one of my favorite people to talk to. She’s a talented actress on the rise and a really cool person. Her latest film is Fear the Night, starring Maggie Q and directed by Gia’s husband Neil LaBute.
I spoke to Gia about the film (prior to the actors strike), acting in her husband’s films. Crushing on Maggie Q, plus much more fun and banter.
REAL TALK:
Gia is really sweet and engaging. Someone that you look forward to speaking with. So I wasn’t sure if her and Neil were married, she somewhat alluded to it when we previously spoke. She did confirm it to me this time, now it makes all the sense.
Gia had high praise for Maggie Q and seemed to really have enjoyed working with her on Fear the Night. It sounded like a girl crush. Maggie is a stunning badass, so how can you not crush on her?
The interview was conducted on the verge of the SAG-AFTRA strike so Gia did comment on the inevitability and uncertainty of it. Hopefully it doesn’t last long and the actors can get back to work and everything is resolved for the better. It’s wild to think that a filmmaker and his actress wife can’t work together, but that’s the reality of the situation.
