World’s most famous cat and mouse duo is getting their first live-action movie. Tom & Jerry officially arrived on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital for your home entertainment viewing. I’m a longtime fan of the cartoon and it was one of my favorite shows as a kid.

This version of Tom and Jerry is reminiscent to what happened when the Smurfs got their first live-action movie treatment. Ironically both stories are set in NYC. Tom and Jerry are still animated, but the world and people around them aren’t.

So how is the rivalry ignited this time around? Jerry decided to move into a lavish NYC hotel where a once-in-a lifetime wedding is about to take place. Leave it up to the wedding planner to hire Tom to take Jerry out of the hotel and keep the wedding intact. If that wasn’t enough, there is a lurking mastermind looking to spoil the party for everyone.

The film is a lot of fun. Several big name recognizable actors appear in the film, including Chloe Grace Moretz, Michael Pena and SNL’s Colin Jost. The film is directed by Tim Story. The old familiar Tom and Jerry shenanigans felt familiar, even though it’s taking place in a much larger scale and setting.

“Tom & Jerry” Blu-ray contains the following special features:

  • Deleted Scenes
  • Gag Reel
  • Bringing Tom & Jerry to Life
  • Tom & Jerry’s World
  • The Feud: #TeamTom vs. #TeamJerry
  • Jerry’s “A House For a Mouse”
  • The Tom & Jerry Guide to New York City Wildlife
  • Inside the Wedding of Ben and Preeta
  • A Scene Comes to Life: Scene #1 – Ben and Preeta’s Wedding
  • A Scene Comes to Life: Scene #2 – Animal Lock-Up

TOM & JERRY is out now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital
