Movieguide Awards

The 27th Annual Movieguide Awards aired on the Hallmark Channel this week. The awards recognize and celebrate uplifting movies and TV shows. These movies embrace faith and values and are family friendly. The event was held at the Universal Hilton at Universal City, California.

Reel Talker was present on the red carpet and in the press room. I spoke to many of the winners, nominees and presenters. Check out some of the highlights below:

REAL TALK

This year that event hosts were the mother-daughter duo of Candace Cameron Bure and Natasha Bure. They did a really nice job of being funny and playful as hosts. The Movieguide Awards are unique as they really do incorporate the faith and Christianity aspect to the show. There was even a prayer during the ceremony.

One of my favorite interviews of the night was speaking with Jon Voight. I found him to be very engaging. Really nice man, that was sharing his time with everyone, even though someone in his position didn’t have to. He was very encouraging and said some thought provoking things.

Backstage I spoke with Jack Wagner, who is very polite and cool. Kris Polaha was a blast, as you’ve seen in the interview. Madeline Carroll was very sweet and shared a great story. Merritt Patterson and Samuel Hunt were fun as we talked about romance. Jean Smart was so graceful. Honestly everyone I spoke to was a joy to be around and talk to.
