Glen Mazzara might not be a household name to many, but he’s the man behind many of your favorite shows. The showrunner/producer has helmed shows such as The Walking Dead and The Shield. He’s currently the showrunner for the MGM+ series Beacon 23, starring Lena Headey.

Beacon 23 is now in it’s 2nd season and I spoke to Glen Mazzara about it, in addition to working on shows like The Walking Dead. He also shared insight about producing shows and the relationships with networks. Check out this insightful biz talk with Glen Mazzara.

REAL TALK:

I enjoyed my conversation with Glen. He mentioned the difficulty making a show like Beacon 23 and all that goes into it. Having multiple seasons of a show is an accomplishment and Glen acknowledged that. He did say he knows how he would wrap up the series and has an ending for it, but if it was to end with this season, he’s satisfied with the ending.

Glen and I got into industry talk and he explained the job of a showrunner and the importance of studios and TV networks and that relationship. It was interesting to hear. He did have praise for as partners MGM+ and the quality of content they produce. I agree, with the content they produce is good, been a fan of several of the MGM+ shows.

BEACON 23 season premieres April 7, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT on MGM+
