Angel Studios latest feature is the story of Francesca Cabrini. The groundbreaking story of Cabrini is directed by Alejandro Monteverde who helmed the hit film Sound of Freedom. The film stars Cristiana Dell’Anna and David Morse.
I had a chance to speak with Alejandro Monteverde, Cristiana Dell’Anna and David Morse about the film. They spoke about their experience and the story of Cabrini.
ALEJANDRO MONTEVERDE (DIRECTOR):
Alejandro was great. Very honest and genuine with his answers. I liked what he said about wanting Cabrini to make a dollar more than Sound of Freedom. Also, thought he can an honest assessment on the potential pressures and expectations for his future films that will follow Sound of Freedom and living up to the success it had.
His inspiration for telling the Cabrini story was relayed to me with passion and a true understanding of the person. I was very impressed with Alejandro. Looks like he’s definitely interested in stories of real superheroes.
CRISTIANA DELL’ANNA & DAVID MORSE (ACTORS):
My first time speaking with Cristiana and David. Been familiar with David’s many roles and prominent films over the years. Cristiana was a new for for me, but was very impressed with her work in the film. Thought she really conveyed the character and spirit of Cabrini.
It was interesting to hear Cristiana describe her personal journey and how she related to Cabrini. I asked David about whether he would judge Archbishop Corrigan, David said he would judge him as a person, but as a character he had to delve into him.
