The Chosen is one of the most viewed shows in the world. It’s now entered its fourth season, which will debut in theaters nationwide. The hit show has impacted many people around the world, including the stars of the show.

I had a chance to speak with Jonathan Roumie and Elizabeth Tabish about The Chosen. They opened up about religion and the impact the show has had on them. Plus, much more.

REAL TALK:

I knew the show was popular, but didn’t know that it impacted so many around the world. Jonathan shared how people have come up to him and told him the show changed their life and saved them from committing suicide. Now that’s powerful and life-changing.

I asked Jonathan about being potentially typecast and only known for playing Jesus, but he has embraced that aspect and is proud of it. Not many get a chance to play a historic almighty figure like Jesus, Jim Caviezel comes to mind, but there haven’t been many, so it sounds like it would be a large honorable undertaking.

Elizabeth opened up about her faith and it caught me off guard when she said she had a portion of her teenage and young adult life where she was “cynical” about religion. She came to discover there was a difference between religion and religious people and then fully embraced it.

There was little doubt that Jonathan and Elizabeth are people of faith and the importance of it in their lives. They also explained how hard it was to fathom the reach the show has. I enjoyed my conversation with them and the transparency they both shared.

THE CHOSEN the entire Season 4 will be released exclusively in theaters with Episodes 1-3 on February 1, 2024, Episodes 4-6 on February 15, and Episodes 7-8 on February 29 in the U.S., Canada, LATAM, UK, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand via a consortium of distributors. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 are available now, and Season 4 will be available via streamers and linear TV at some point after the theatrical run.
