Dermot Mulroney is a widely recognizable seasoned veteran actor that seemingly done it all. His latest film Breakwater pushes him to limits we haven’t witnessed of him on-screen. Breakwater is a gritty thriller that stars Dermot Mulroney alongside Alyssa Goss and Darren Mann.
I spoke to Dermot, Darren and Alyssa about Breakwater. They spoke about working with each other and the difficulties they shared as part of the process of making this film. Full interview can be found below.
REAL TALK:
I really enjoyed this conversation with Dermot, Alyssa and Darren. Their passion, especially Dermot’s for this film is unmatched. It was apparent this film is one that united them through the difficulties they faced with some really intense scenes.
Dermot started things on a fun note with his enthusiastic reaction to my comparison of his recent work mirroring Liam Neeson’s. Darren spoke about filming in a prison and how raw and eerie that experience was.
Each of these actors played characters that displayed rawness. They might not be the most likeable characters, but they felt like real people. Dermot spoke passionately about the boat scene and the intensity of it, as well as the dangers that it accompanied.
Dermot is a lot of fun and more energetic than I expected him to be. I loved the part where they spoke about each other as people and how much they impacted each other and the bond they made and shared.
Breakwater is a raw and gritty thriller with some intense strong performances. It’s definitely worth a watch, especially if you’re into dramatic thrillers.
