It’s spooky season and it’s time to make time to watch some good horror movies. Deliver Us is one of those films on this fall slate that you should add to your list. It’s got a little bit of everything, pregnant nuns, investigative priests, blood, gore, scares and, oh, the Anti-Christ!

I spoke to the creators of the polarizing film, Lee Roy Kunz and Cru Ennis. They guys opened up about the making of the film, superstitions and sacrilege, the shocking opening scene and the meaning of the ending (spoilers).

REAL TALK:

I had a good time chatting with Lee Roy and Cru about the film. They were engaging and transparent. Learned a lot of fun-facts about the film. First one off-the-bat was that Lee Roy’s dad played a big part in coming up with the idea for the film, get this, at a brewery! Pure awesomeness.

I had to ask them and hear their reasoning for that polarizing sex scene (don’t want to give it away, but when you watch it you’ll know). They didn’t find it sacrilege, which is probably a good thing, because if they were superstitious about it, they would be in their head throughout filming.

They didn’t want to reveal the ending, but they kinda did once they started talking about it and Lee Roy said he would love to turn it into a trilogy and has ideas for it. He did a great job as the lead in the film also.

Deliver Us is a horror that will have you in shock with a few scenes. The acting is solid. The story is intense and the deck is stacked with one surprising moment after another. It’s an interesting watch.

DELIVER US will release DELIVER US in theaters and on VOD on September 29th, 2023
