If you’re looking for an excellent and realistic series about ancient Rome, look no further than MGM+ Domina. The second season is out now and there is even more at stake.
I spoke to the stars of the show Kasia Smutniak (Livia Drusilla) and Matthew McNulty (Gaius Julius Caesar). Kasia and Matthew spoke about their experiences working on the show. Shared their thoughts on the world of Domina. Plus, they share their favorite stories from the set.
REAL TALK:
I was excited to speak with Kasia and Matthew, especially Kasia since she’s a fellow Polish person. We started off the conversation on a great note sharing greetings in Polish. Kasia went in depth about the world that people living in during the times the show is set in. She commented on how they buried their children under the homes they lived in, that’s wild when you give it some thought.
Matthew agreed with me that we wouldn’t want to or could make it living in those times. Kasia and Matthew praised the set location and authentic feel of the area setting. Kasia mentioned the ancient countryside and it’s roads. Matthew spoke about the costumes. It was an enjoyable conversation with them.
Domina is a show to watch. The costumes, performances and story are compelling. Season two picks up where after the events of season one.
DOMINA Season 2, premiering on MGM+ on July 9, 2023
