Temptation Island is back! The fifth season (since the return) is about to steam things up and this season a major new element comes into play that will put all the contestants on the island on notice.
The face of the franchise and host of the show is Mark L. Walberg. I spoke to mark about the upcoming new season. What’s he learned from hosting the show over the years about people and relationships. Plus, the influence Mark’s wife has on it all.
REAL TALK:
Mark was fantastic. Super easy to chat with. Engaging. Humble. He’s the real deal. What you see on the show is what you get off-camera. The reason Mark is my favorite host is simple, he’s authentic as it gets. No host of any reality show is as transparent and honest, supportive but also tough when needed.
He gives outstanding life advice, and now the secret is out that he gets a lot of it from his wife. Mark seems like a good family man and it’s super cool his wife comes along with him on the filming trips. Good man.
This season the glow-up ball is gonna wreck some romances potentially. I like this new addition to the show, should add some additional heightened drama. I did ask if the light-up-ball was planned for a while, but based on Mark’s response it seems like it come up for this season.
Temptation Island is one of my favorite reality shows. It just feels more legitimate than other dating shows. Feels like real couples at the crossroads of their relationship and the island is the test if they will come out stronger or fall under the temptation. Mark makes it all “go”. Without him it be a different show, but with him it’s a perfect combination.
TEMPTATION ISLAND (Season 5) debuts on June 14 at 9/8c and airs Wednesdays on the USA Network and Peacock (available next day)
