In Wan we trust. Filmmaker James Wan knows a thing or two about films, especially horror. Wan is the producer behind The Curse of La Llorona, directed by fast rising filmmaker, Michael Chaves. La Llorona is a famed Mexican folktale of the “weeping woman” who steals children in the dark of night. Linda Cardellini stars as a social worker and single mother of two kids who are the sight of La Llorona.

If that wasn’t creepy enough, the movie surely is. Expect some goosebumps and jolts. Look out for that La Llorona roar. The film has the look and tone of a Wan film, so Chaves learned from the best. The story flows nicely and there is a good built for the reveal of La Llorona. This is an entertaining and thrilling horror that’s worth seeing.
