The second week of May offers a nice mix of comedy and animated fun. The LEGO Movie comes back with a satisfactory sequel and Taraji P. Henson finds out What Men Want. Plus, you better call Saul if for some legal advice.

LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SCOND PART:

If you thought everything was awesome after the first LEGO adventure, well five years later, things aren’t as awesome on Bricksburg. Enter the LEGO DUPLO outer space invaders, who are threatening destruction to the LEGO universe. Leave it up to the LEGO all-stars Emmet, Lucy, LEGO Batman and the gang to save the universe.

The Second Part offers the familiar LEGO action and LEGO fun you are used to. Sequels tend to have a hard time living up to the expectations of the original, but have no fear when it comes to LEGO sequels. They have a great formula of combining edgy sarcastic humor and distinguished colorful characters that are easy to embrace.

I felt like LEGO Movie 2 might have been even slightly more entertaining and action-packed than the first one. We get to see more of the LEGO universe and the outer space element is fun. LEGO Batman is still the comedic relief, but the story is a lot more focused on Emmet. It also leads to some twist and turns and friendships are tested. It’s a lot of fun and some of the one-liners are priceless. I sure couldn’t have imagined as a kid that the LEGO movies would be more fun than the LEGO bricks I played with.
