This past weekend, the TV Industry Advocacy Awards took place at the Sofitel in Beverly Hills, California. The event benefitted the Creative Coalition and honors television industry leaders impact on social causes. Among this years honorees were Debra Messing, Patricia Heaton, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sela Ward, Bill Prady, Abigail Disney and Mädchen Amick. The presenters included Jenna Dewan, Lea Thompson and Diedrich Bader.

I had a chance to speak to a couple participants on the red carpet, who told me about their advocacy causes and current projects.

WENDI MCLENDON-COVEY:

DIEDRICH BADER:

REAL TALK:

This event had a lot of interesting names being part of it. The celeb’s gathered to support each other’s advocacy causes. So all in good benefit for work done off-screen.

With the fast moving nature of some red carpets, I didn’t get a chance to speak with everyone. I did speak to honoree Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs) and presenter Diedrich Bader (American Housewife) about the event. They were both very complimentary of the event and causes. Diedrich had great things to say about Patricia Heaton.

Wendi seemed very happy with the cause she was supporting. She did mention a special Halloween episode of The Goldbergs coming up. Seems like she really loves working on the show and with that cast and crew.

The Celebrity Page #SeeHer event followed this event, so I didn’t get a chance to stay and check it out.
