The week of June 5 offers a couple of Disney releases, a raunchy animated series and even a horror movie to see. The following selections are some under-the-radar picks.

DUCKTALES: DESTINATION ADVENTURE:

I felt I had to pepper you up with the new version of the old DuckTales song. As many of you, I pretty much grew up on loving DuckTales. The rambunctious trio of Huey, Dewey and Louie along with uncle Scrooge McDuck are back at it again, reincarnated and remastered. The updated DuckTales manages to capture the fun spirit of the old series. We’ve already had a season of it released on the Disney Channel, but now we also get a DVD special in Destination Adventure.

In the film they once again embark on global adventures filled with shenanigans. The characters have a new modernized look. Might throw off some of you a bit, but you’ll certainly get used to it and hopefully embrace a newish look. It had to happen, it’s been 30 years since we first saw DuckTales! You’ll know when you see it. If you grew up with DuckTales as I have, you’ll enjoy the new updated version of them. If you’ve seen the new series, then this film will be a great bonus to it and an additional DuckTales adventure for you to check out. Either way, nostalgia reigns—Woo-oo!!

DUCKTALES: DESTINATION ADVENTURE is out now on DVD
